All car rentals in Ringwood are governed by a comprehensive Rental Agreement presented at the time of booking confirmation or vehicle pickup. This document outlines specific terms, conditions, insurance details, fees, and your obligations related to the rental. In case of any discrepancies between these Terms and the Rental Agreement, the Rental Agreement will take precedence.
Eligibility Criteria
Renting a Vehicle in Ringwood
- To rent a vehicle from Car Hire in Ringwood, you must be at least 21 years old, although some vehicle types may have different age requirements. A valid driving licence, appropriate for your chosen vehicle, is necessary, along with proof of your current address and valid identification. Payment details and a security deposit are also required, along with any additional criteria specified in the Rental Agreement.
Booking and Payment Details
- Bookings for our car hire services can be easily made via our website, over the phone, or in person at our Ringwood office. To confirm your reservation, a booking deposit may be required. Full payment and a security deposit are due upon vehicle collection. All prices are listed in British Pounds (£) and include VAT as applicable. We accept major credit and debit cards, ensuring secure transactions through trusted payment processors.
4. Collecting and Returning Vehicles
- Upon collecting your vehicle, please conduct a thorough inspection and immediately report any pre-existing damage. A vehicle condition report will be prepared and must be signed by you. When returning the vehicle, it should be in the same condition as received, considering normal wear and tear. Any new damage will be evaluated and charged accordingly. Ensure the vehicle is returned with the same fuel level as at collection, as refueling charges will apply for vehicles returned with less fuel. Late returns may incur extra fees, so please contact us promptly if you anticipate being late. You are liable for any parking fines, traffic violations, or charges incurred during your rental, in addition to an administration fee.
5. Coverage and Responsibility
- All car rentals include basic third-party insurance, details of which are outlined in your Rental Agreement. You may have the option to purchase additional insurance to further limit your financial responsibility in case of damage or loss. Please review these options closely. You are liable for any damages or losses up to the excess amount specified, unless you have opted for additional insurance. Any damages resulting from negligence or misuse remain your responsibility, regardless of insurance coverage.
6. Cancellations and Modifications
Cancellation and modification terms differ based on the type of booking and the notice period provided. For precise information, please consult your booking confirmation or Rental Agreement. Be aware that late cancellations or failure to show up may incur additional charges.
Prohibited Activities
Prohibited Uses of Vehicle
- Prohibited activities include any illegal conduct, racing, rallying, off-roading, or engaging in other dangerous practices. Transporting hazardous materials or sub-letting vehicles is not permitted. Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, exceeding weight or passenger limits, and operating outside the designated geographical areas without authorization are also strictly forbidden.
Breach of these terms may lead to rental cancellation and fees.
8. Liability Limitations
To the fullest extent allowable under English and Welsh law, Car Hire Ringwood disclaims liability for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including any loss of profits or data resulting from your use of our services. Our total liability for any claims will be limited to the amount you paid for the rental within the last 12 months. This limitation does not affect our liability for death or personal injury arising from negligence or for fraudulent activities.
